Pixels
NovaStar's LED Configuration Tools begin by requesting the number of horizontal and vertical pixels in each cabinet or panel that makes up the display. If you don't happen to have that number on hand, calculate (1000/pixel pitch) * the row length. Or just start counting...
Dimensions
The configuration parameters also include the overall dimensions of the display as determined as a multiple of the pixels defined in the receiving cards. Enter the number of rows and columns and LCT works out the rest. Select one of the preset data flow icons that reflect your cabling.
Viewing
Manage the calibration of your reds, greens and blues that make up a pixel, a panel or a display using online or offline tools to upload files, set and save, adjust or erase or reset calibration coefficients. Odds are you'll probably enjoy the results more than the work, but that's life.
Performance
NovaStar LCT does everything you might ask of configuration software. We are currently on version 5 so there is a wealth of knowledge and experience that has brought us to this point. LCT is just the nuts and bolts to get you up and running. Just be sure to read the manual.
Power

LCT Smart is the new generation of screen configuration software from NovaStar.
VNNOX is a secure cloud-based publishing service launched by NovaStar to implement remote LED display content management and terminal control.
VNNOX includes VNNOX Lite and VNNOX Pro. After successful registration, users can access both VNNOX Lite and VNNOX Pro.
This document is intended to help users to quickly get started with VNNOX Lite and VNNOX Pro for remote publishing. Below is an introduction of some basic concepts.
About This Document
Remote Publishing
Remote publishing enables users to publish solutions associated with players to remote terminal players via Internet. The solutions will be downloaded and played by terminal players as scheduled.
Remote Control
Remote control enables users to perform real-time or scheduled operations such as restarting displays. Scheduled control can be implemented by sending remote control plans.
Players
Players include synchronous players and asynchronous players, which can be associated with solutions and remote control plans.
Players in VNNOX Lite are created automatically when users bind terminal players to players and the players can be transferred to VNNOX Pro after authorization.
Players in VNNOX Pro can be created manually in the player list and can be used after associated with licenses.
Terminal Players
Solutions can be downloaded and played by terminal players as scheduled.
VNNOX Player is a software application for Windows and can be used as a terminal player on PC.
Taurus series multimedia players are hardware products based on Android and can be used as the terminal players of the asynchronous system.
Player Binding
Player binding is also called terminal binding.
Binding terminal players to players enables users to publish solutions and control displays remotely. Only one player can be bound to a terminal player.

Solutions
VNNOX Lite allows users to edit and publish simple solutions. A solution can be created by adding media and then editing the solution page.
VNNOX Pro allows users to edit and publish complex solutions. After users add media, add the media to playlists and schedule the playlists, a solution is created.

Connection identifies the sequence of the sending card, Ethernet port number and the receiving card.
Mapping Position sets the position of the top left cabinet on the LED display.
Position sets the position of the top left cabinet on the canvas.
Loading Capacity Usage
If set to Auto Connect, the cabinets beyond the loading capacity of the Ethernet ports cannot be connected.
If manually connected, the cabinets beyond the loading capacity of the Ethernet ports can be connected.
The Loading Capacity Usage section displays the usage of the loading capacity of Ethernet ports.
Blue: Denotes the loading capacity is normal. When the loading capacity of the connected cabinets is within that of the Ethernet ports, the progress bar shows blue.
Red: Denotes the loading capacity is beyond the limit. When the loading capacity of the connected cabinets exceeds that of the Ethernet ports, the progress bar shows red.
4.2 New Projects
In the Function section of the start page, click Create Offline Design to enter the Create a new project page.

Project Name allows the user to name the project and choose a save path for the project.
Device Selection allows the user to select a video controller.
Cabinet Selection allows the user to select the manufacturer and type of the cabinets.
Screen Size allows the user to set the columns and rows of the cabinets.
Maximum Load shows the maximum screen width and height that can be loaded by the device.
Connection Type allows the user to select the connection type of the cabinets or Auto Connect.

Export Selected Cabinets allows the user to export one or more cabinet files.

4.3 Screen Configuration
After an offline project is created, you will enter the Edit page.
Adding Cabinets
Select device type and Ethernet port type.
In the Cabinet Management section, add batches of cabinets.
In the Cabinet Management section, add single cabinets.
Select cabinets from the canvas using click and drag.
Cabinet Connection
Connecting Cabinets
Before configuring the screen, you need to connect the cabinets. SmartLCT offers two connection methods.
Auto connect
On the Create a new project page, after you have selected Auto Connect, the cabinets will be automatically connected while you adding them in the canvas. If the loading capacity of the cabinets loaded by a single Ethernet exceeds the allowed loading capacity of that Ethernet port, auto connection will stop.
Manual connect
Add cabinets in the canvas and select the target cabinets. Then, in the Cabinet Connection section of the tool bar, choose a cabinet connection type. If the loading capacity of the cabinets loaded by a single Ethernet exceeds the allowed loading capacity of that Ethernet port, the connection will stop.
Add cabinets in the canvas. Then, click to select the center of the first target cabinet and then move to the center of the second cabinet, and continue.
Choose Edit > Advanced to enable or disable Auto Connect.
Grouping Cabinets
In the canvas, select the target cabinets and right-click to choose Group.
In the Properties section, set the name, color and position for the grouped cabinets. The grouped cabinets will be edited as a whole.
Deleting Cabinet Connection
Select the target cabinets and right-click to select Delete Connection to remove the connection between the cabinets.
Setting Cabinet Offset
After you have added cabinets and connected them, a dotted rectangle surrounding the cabinets will appear. The size of the dotted rectangle denotes the loading capacity of the connected device.
Select the arrow right to a cabinet and change its position relative to the dashed box.
Rotating Cabinets
Select the rotate icon to set the angle of rotation of the cabinets to the target position.
4.4 Sending Configuration Information
Select the paper airplane icon and select yes in the confirmation box.
Select the matching device that is online.
4.5 Other Operations
Adding Devices
At the bottom left of the Device section, select the plus icon to open the Add Devices dialog box.
Select the device type and number to be cascaded and select Add.
Hot Backup
🗀Device ⭢🗀Hot Backup
The hot backup includes backup with the device (Ethernet port backup) and backup between devices.
Hot backup is only available for the devices with the same communication ports.
After device backup is set, the Ethernet ports of the backup device will be the backup of the corresponding ports of the master device. The backup relations cannot be crossed and removed.
Backup Within the Device
Add a device to the editing area.
When the Ethernet ports are backed up, click at the top right of the device to remove the backup.
Click X between two Ethernet ports to delete the line.
Click X at the top right of the device to delete the device.
Backup Between Devices
Add devices that requires backup to the editing area.
Drag a device onto another device, and the backup can be done automatically. Or click the small triangle in the right side of the device, drag to the small triangle of the other device and click to complete the backup.
When the backup is done, the icon appears on the line between the two devices. Click this icon to switch between master and backup.
Click X at the top right of a device to delete the device.
Click the highlighted X at the top right of the dashed box to remove the backup.
5.1 User Interface
Canvas Properties
Select a blank area of the canvas and edit canvas properties in the Canvas section.

This is used to set color parameters of the screen.

Gamma: Supports gamma.
Color Temperature: Supports custom brightness and color temperature.

Calibration: Supports calibration type selection.
Color Gamut Setting: Supports custom color gamut.
PAL NTSC: Supports PAL or NTSC.
Device Properties
Select a cabinet. The properties of the device is displayed in the Properties section.

Mapping Position: Position of the selected cabinet's top-left corner on the LED display.
Test Pattern: Verifies the display effect of the screen.
When the connected device supports rotation function, the center and angle of rotation can be set in the properties of the device to achieve full rotation of the LED display
Advanced Properties
On the Advanced tab page, you can set the pre-stored image and the startup screen status.

Choose Image: Browse for image file.
Effect Settings: Choose from tile, stretched or centered.
Function Settings: Enable or disable the startup screen function.
Disconnect Cable: Set what is displayed when the cable is disconnected.
No DVI Signal: Set what is displayed when there is no DVI signal.
5.2 New Projects
Run Smart and refresh the device list and screen list.
In the Function section, select Create Online Design to create a new project page.

Project Name: Name the project and choose a save path for the project.
Cabinet Selection: Select the manufacturer and type of the cabinets.

Connection Type: Select the connection type of the cabinets.
5.3 Screen Configuration
After an online design is created, the edit page will be displayed.
If the system is connected with receiving cards, it can read the cabinet size automatically.
Select an Ethernet port type.
In the Cabinet Management section, click the cabinet icons to add single or batches of cabinets.
5.4 Seam Brightness Adjustment
First configure the LED display and then navigate to the Seam Brightness Adjustment page

Module Mode: Split the added cabinet into different areas (modules).
Cabinet Mode: Recover the split cabinet.

Clear Status: Clear selected status.
Keyboard Shortcuts: Set keyboard shortcuts and use them for cabinet mode selection and borders settings.

Image Quality Adjustment: Testing color on the display window.
Screen Display Position: Switch position of the display window.
Seam Brightness Parameter Adjustment
1. Choose Device > Seam Brightness to enter the seam brightness adjustment page.
2. Select the target border, and the border will become blue.
3. Choose precision of the adjustment.
4. Drag the slider next to the Selected Area Parameter Adjustment to adjust seam brightness parameters, and the borders will become green.
5. Type “admin” to access the factory area and user area settings page.
Save to Factory Area: Save seam brightness adjustment parameters to the factory area of the receiving card. These parameters will be used for maintenance after the cabinet is returned to factory.
Save to User Area: Save seam brightness adjustment parameters to the user area of the receiving card. These parameters will be used for on-site screen adjustment.
Load Factory Area: Restore seam brightness adjustment parameters to the parameters last saved in the factory area.
Load User Area: Restore seam brightness adjustment parameters to the parameters last saved in the user area.
Save to HW: Save seam brightness adjustment parameters to the sending device.
Save: Save the seam brightness adjustment parameters.
Save seam brightness adjustment parameters to the sending device.
5.5 Batch Adjustment
This function is used to adjust the brightness and chroma of cabinets of different batches in order to ensure the images are displayed uniformly on LED screen.
First, configure the display and save the configuration parameters to hardware.

Tool Bar: Import: Import the batch adjustment parameter file, Save, Display, Calibrate, Switch and Save To Hardware.
Editing Area: Edit the status of cabinets or modules.
Reconnect: Reconnect the device after the device went offline.
Refresh: Refresh the device information.
Reset: Reset to factory settings.
Save: Send current device information to the hardware device and save it.
Update: Update the firmware version of current controller device.
Test: Test the display effect of the images displayed on LED screen.
Monitoring: Set the temperature and voltage ranges for normal operating of current controller device.
Language: Set the language of current page.
5.9 Other Operations
Smart supports the Mapping function.
Under Device > Mapping the receiving card numbers and Ethernet port information are displayed on the cabinets of the screen.
6.1 Building Screens Like Building Blocks
1. In the Device section, select a device and Ethernet port.
2. In the Tool bar, select Edit and then Cabinet Management
3. Select the Canvas to add cabinets.
4. Select one or multiple cabinets and move the mouse to change the cabinet position to build different layouts.
6.2 Rotating in 90° Increments
Connect those receiving cards or controllers that support rotation.
1. On the canvas, select the target cabinets.
2. In the property area, select Reorient to select the angle of cabinet rotation.
6.3 Full 360° Rotation
Connect the controller MCTRL R5 to Smart and the rotation function can be enabled.
Rotation of a Single Cabinet
1. Select Rotate and then the cabinets. A rotating bar appears on each of the cabinets.
2. Select any of the rotating bars and drag the mouse. The cabinet rotates around its rotation center.
3. Or set the rotation center and angles of rotation in the property section on the right.
Rotation of a Group of Cabinets
1. Select Rotate and the cabinets.
2. Right-click the cabinets and select Group.
3. Select the grouped cabinets. A rotating bar appears on each of the cabinets.
4. Click the rotation bar and drag the cabinets. The group of cabinets rotates around the rotation center.
5. Or set the rotation center and angles of rotation in the property section on the right.
6.4 LED Display Test
Select Tools and then Test Tool to enter the display test tool page or receiving card test page.

Window: Set window position and size, or hide the window.
Pure Color: Set window color (pure color), gray scale and refresh rate.

Orientation: Set module size and the number of modules loaded by the scanning board. Detailed settings are shown in the figure below.

6.5 Update and Read-back of Receiving Card Configuration Parameters
1. Select the target cabinets on the canvas.
2. Right-click to select Read back parameters/Update receiving card parameters to read back or update local receiving card configuration parameters.
6.6 Read-back of Controller and Receiving Card Information
Select the refresh icon next to the corresponding controller or receiving card to read back the model, communication port and hardware version of the current controller or receiving card.
6.7 Receiving Card Program Upgrade
First, save the upgrade package of receiving card firmware program to the local PC.
1. In the canvas, select the target cabinets to enter the Properties tab page on the right.
2. Select the Upload icon next to the Program Version.
3. Select the path of the upgrade package to upgrade the firmware program.
6.8 Controller Program Upgrade
Save the upgrade package of the controller firmware program to the local PC and then enter V-Sender.
1. Select V-Sender.
2. Select Update or select the Properties tab and the upload icon next to Program Version.
3. On the Firmware Upgrade window that appears, select the path of the upgrade package.
4. Select Update.
6.9 Exporting Screen Configuration Information as Image
Select Project and then Export
1. Set export parameters and information.
2. Click Export to export the screen configuration image to the local PC.
